I didn't plan to change course in the jewelry world. It began with a personal search.

Nearly a decade ago, in my 30s and saving for a meaningful splurge, I set out to buy myself a pair of diamond studs. I had a clear budget and was hoping for something colorless and striking. But every natural diamond I saw in my price range came with visible flaws and a yellow cast—none of which felt worthy of the milestone or the money.

Then I discovered lab grown diamonds: the same fire and sparkle, more transparency, and incredible value. I dove into research, spoke with industry experts, and even consulted certified gemologists. None could tell the difference. That moment changed everything.

Lab grown diamonds are made using impressive technology that essentially copies how natural diamonds grow, atom by atom. They have the same chemical makeup and sparkle, but with more transparency and better value. Curious about the science and impressed by how gorgeous they looked, I chatted with experts and talked to certified gemologists. That's when I found out lab grown diamonds are almost impossible to tell apart from mined ones. The only difference is where they come from.

Over time, the vision for Lumeniri came into focus. It was built on curiosity, a trust in innovation, and a genuine desire to offer others what I had been searching for myself. I realized that beyond the diamond, there was a chance to create something different. While much of the growing lab grown market focused on the basics, I wanted to bring a fresh perspective: playful, modern, and elevated pieces that felt truly special.

With Lumeniri, that idea became reality: a brand for jewelry lovers who value integrity, design, and diamonds made with precision and purpose.

Hey, I'm Zaida Zamorano. Designer, proud Latina, mother, cancer survivor, and unapologetic optimist.

My journey lit a fire in me. Strength isn't handed to us. We build it. And every woman carries her own light—brilliant, resilient, and uniquely hers. This light guides us through challenges and inspires us to keep moving forward.

"Be the Light" isn't just our tagline. It's my mantra. It carried me through my hardest moments and inspires every piece we create. It's a reminder that no matter what you're facing, your light is yours to own and share beautifully and without apology.

The Journey to Lumeniri

My love for luxury and design has always been fueled by a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and meaningful storytelling. My very first job introduced me to the world of luxury through Swiss watch brand BEDAT & Co., co-founded by Simone Bédat, where I learned how design and storytelling could come together to create something truly timeless.

From there, I moved into brand development for international jewelry houses spanning from Turkey to Switzerland to Italy, gaining hands-on experience with fine materials, artisanal techniques, and global markets. Eventually, I returned to the world of watches to help launch Frederique Constant in the U.S., blending Swiss precision with a more accessible approach to luxury.

Over time, my eye for quality and design was shaped not only by these roles but also by travel. I found inspiration in the ateliers of Italy, the stone markets of India, the goldsmiths of Turkey, and the vibrant creative cultures of Colombia and Argentina.

These experiences have shaped Lumeniri into what it is today: a brand rooted in global craftsmanship and personal expression, jewelry that tells your story and reflects your brilliance.
